In the Niemegk South Sister Forest, we are giving nature time and space to renew itself under its own steam. This area will not be turned into a “ready-made forest,” but rather a living, diverse forest that is becoming more resilient step by step – with native tree species, stable soils, and new habitats for a wide range of species.
Instead of quick fixes, we rely on a combination of natural regeneration and targeted support where the site needs it. This allows a mixed forest to develop that is more resistant to drought and extreme weather and binds CO₂ in the long term, while also positively influencing water, air, and the microclimate .
To ensure that an area truly becomes a sustainable ecosystem, we continuously support the Niemegk South Sister Forest with technical expertise, local partners, and transparent documentation. This makes it possible to see what is growing— and how many small steps can lead to the creation of lasting, genuine nature.
