Donation or sponsorship – what is the difference?

A donation is a voluntary contribution without any consideration in return. Sponsorship usually involves an agreed consideration (e.g. mention/communication package). We will clarify in advance which form is suitable for your company – if in doubt, please consult your tax advisor.

How does the contribution reach forest.ly?

For businesses, we offer invoicing and, upon request, recurring payment models (e.g., monthly or annually). For fund partnerships, a standing order/SEPA transfer is possible.

What exactly is the money used for?

Primarily for land protection (purchase/lease) and protective measures (e.g., fencing). Depending on the project, planting/maintenance and monitoring may also be required.

Will we receive materials for internal/external communication?

Yes. Standard deliverables are quarterly updates and an annual impact letter (PDF). On request, we can provide a small communication package (text modules + images) as an add-on.

Are we allowed to communicate CO₂ compensation?

If you want to communicate your support as “compensation” or an “offset”, claims should be phrased very carefully. We recommend first focusing on funding land protection and regeneration. For actual CO₂ certificates, additional standards/verification are required.
